Making Things by Hand
I have always loved making things. Growing up, some of my fondest memories were of playing with LEGO and Lincoln Logs. It engaged both the creative and engineering sides of my brain. Woodworking is something that both of my grandfathers and father engaged in, and encouraged me to get into. I remember in the days before the Internet and YouTube, watching Norm Abrams bring amazing pieces to life on the New Yankee Workshop, thinking some day I want to have my own shop and do the same. After a number of years living in New York City (where having your own shop is a pricey proposition), we moved to the Hudson Valley where I could once again engage in a pastime that I have always enjoyed.
In 2016, my wife and I purchased a horse farm north of Newburgh in Orange County New York. The big change from the City allowed my wife and I to fulfill each of our passions, hers was horses, and mine making things.
